“Help the child to maintain arousal, regulate emotions, organise their bodies, develop good motor & play skills, build relationships and be successful in any environment are the outcomes of our sensory integration program”.
Feeding / eating in children can be very stressful to the families due to several reasons such as difficulty in regulating food inside the mouth & swallow, weak chewing, risk of aspiration, longer feeding time, fussy eater or picky eater. Therapists work closely with families to identify feeding difficulties in children and develop a tailor-made program to make feeding/eating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.
The feeding therapy at Therakinos happens as a part of Physiotherapy / sensory Integrative Intervention. The home program involves oral preparation before mealtime, Strategies that improve participation and safety during meals, and motor skills activities to build oral muscle control, strength and coordination.
